MONA SCOTT-YOUNG JOINS GRASSROOTS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR ANOTHER YEAR OF FEEDING FAMILIES IN THE ANNUAL #GIVETHANKS TURKEY GIVEAWAY

Monami Entertainment CEO Mona Scott-Young continues her philanthropic community work this holiday season as a team leader in the GrassROOTS Community Foundation’s (GCF) annual #GiveThanks Turkey Giveaway program.
A GCF board member since 2013, Scott-Young will help provide healthy meals for almost 1000 families and elders in need this Thanksgiving along with tv personality/entrepreneur Yandy Smith-Harris. The turkey drive has expanded beyond Newark, NJ to include Atlanta and Harlem and will culminate in a cocktail fundraiser on November 17 at the Montclair Art Museum in New Jersey.
“We are so thankful for Mona’s generosity. She takes the issue of food insecurity very seriously and each year she gives her all to make sure that families have what they need. We give thanks for her hard work,” says Dr. Janice Johnson Dias, GrassROOTS President.

Scott-Young will lead the charge in her second home of Atlanta, where GrassROOTS will serve residents at QLS Gardens and QLS Haven Apartments in Southwest Atlanta, housing communities that are challenged by poverty and violence. GCF will also provide for Georgia King Village in Newark and Opportunity Charter School in Harlem. Program participants will receive a full holiday meal which includes a turkey plus farm-fresh fruit and veggies.

“I take special joy in supporting GrassROOTS’ #GiveThanks program,” says Scott-Young. “No one should go hungry in this country, especially not during the holidays. It’s an honor to do this each year to help bring comfort to those in need.”
