On September 2-16, 2018, the nationally recognized campaign, Black Restaurant Week, LLC (BRW), will host its second annual 2 week showcase using a combination of awareness and education events to stimulate growth of African American owned culinary businesses and farms in Atlanta, GA.
A portion of proceeds will be donated to Family Agriculture Resource Management Service (F.A.R.M.S.) food bank program which purchases produce from small farmers to be donated to food bank and local food shelters.
“We are excited to showcase the partnerships we established in the Atlanta Black culinary community last year through our restaurant showcase and series of events. It is also important that culinary professionals have an opportunity to leverage this platform to grow their business throughout the year.” Warren Luckett, Morehouse grad and founder of BRW stated, “We also look forward to showcasing the multitude of diversity that exists on the food scene with both community staples and hidden gems.”

Restaurant Week Showcase: September 2-16, 2018
For the entire two weeks, diners will enjoy pre-fixe fine dining menus for just $35 – $45 per person or casual dining menus for $15 – $25 per person from participating restaurants. Ms. Icey’s Kitchen, Nana’s Restaurant, and Café Songhai, just to name a few, have already registered and restaurants, food truck owners, bartenders, chefs and caterers are still encouraged to sign up to participate. BRW will reflect a diverse selection of African, Caribbean, Creole, Cajun, Vegetarian, Seafood, Southern, and BBQ cuisine.
Aroma: Culinary Panel Discussion: Growing the Culinary Industry

This event will highlight women who have successfully navigated the field in a variety of ways including catering, restaurant ownership, or food truck ownership. Inga Willis of The Mogul Group will be moderating an expert panel offering advice on ways to get started in the industry, raising capital, and managing a successful business operation.

The Nosh Culinary Showcase, hosted by CBS 46 reporter Brittany Miller and Anchor Aiyana Cristal, honors the talented executive chefs and caterers of Atlanta by showing the diverse cultures and culinary talent that Atlanta has to offer. WNBA Player Angel McCoughtry will be judging the Power of the Palate bartending competition where bartenders and other mixologists create some eclectic cocktails that highlight the bold flavors from the African diaspora.
