#112Takeover kicks off with South Atlanta high school press conference, scholarship, Chik Fil A and Comcast

After an action packed New York press run, including an appearance on the Wendy Williams show on Thursday, October 19, 2017, legendary R&B group 112 returns to their hometown of Atlanta, GA to celebrate the release of their highly anticipated album, “Q Mike Slim Daron.”

Today media, influencers and S. Atlanta high school students gathered with the group at their alma mater South Atlanta High School for a kickoff press conference.

Moderated by Derek Harper, the program director of Majic 97.5/107.5 FM, the session included remarks from representatives from Comcast manager Doug Powell and the principal of South Atlanta High School , Dr. Patricia Ford, and Tiphanie Watson of the Mayor’s Office of Film & Entertainment (City of Atlanta).

The guys were especially excited about giving (2) scholarships to students at South Atlanta High School.  The “112 Music Scholarship” will provide tuition assistance to (2) graduating seniors in the amount of $1,000 with an interest in pursuing a career in the music industry.  The recipients of this scholarship will have excelled in band or music class with an interest in further developing themselves musically through college, community college or community music program. This recipient will have a 2.5 or above GPA, community service involvement, verbal communication skills and a reference letter.

After the scholarship announcement, the guys engage in a Q&A with the students and media and took pictures with the students and their old classmates.

There will be other numerous events throughout the week, so you will have many chances to come out and show love to the fellas, including a Customer Appreciation Event Tuesday from 12-3 and the 112 CommunityFest this Saturday.
