The moment you can sample your own song and make it a hit is when you know you’ve achieved legendary status as an artist. This is precisely what Q, Mike, Slim and Daron AKA the group 112 has accomplished with their soon to be released new album.
Rolling Out Magazine opened their doors on September 13, 2017 and allowed us in for not only a pop-up music listening party but a behind the scenes look at the documentary 112 is in the process of filming. From the time the first beat dropped the room was reminded of how great the group is. Lyrically and vocally talented, they harmonized their way back into our hearts. For some of us they never really left.
The entire new album is a must hear but my favorites are Residue and a track called Dangerously. Along with other bangers they will be joined by other greats, Faith Evans and Jagged Edge. But, the day wasn’t only about music.
The group allowed us into their personal space with some very interesting behind the scene topics. Who knew they and Silk competed against each other at talent shows? The room was all there for it.
Get ready because 112 has never left. Thank goodness!
