Columbus, GA servant honored on the Today Show

“NBC’s Today Show interviews Chester Jackson”

50 bikes were given to kids in the community this morning live on the Today Show on behalf of Chester Jackson, creator of the Wishing Well Foundation Bike Giveaway, who was interviewed by NBC’s Today Show “Rossen Reports”.

The live broadcast was from the South Columbus Boys & Girls Club on Cusseta Rd. where teary eyed kids with 1,000 wattage smiles were surprised this morning with a brand new bike, on behalf of Mr. Jackson’s non-profit, Today’s Youth In A Challenging Tomorrow, Inc.

Mr. Jackson says, “With tears in his eyes he felt like a child this morning and I could not stop smiling. Every tear that rolled down my face was a tear of joy, watching those kids roll away on bikes.” Since the broadcast this morning, bikes have steadily been dropped off to Mr. Jackson’s body shop located at 923 Farr Rd. in Columbus. Anyone that wants to donate a bike or has bikes that needs to be picked up, please stop by or call (706) 685- 0823.

Each year Mr. Jackson’s nonprofit hosts a music and talent showcase, featuring talent from across the region. The 3rd Annual Music Essential Showcase is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Occasions Event Center, beginning at 6pm, is a free event open to the public. The showcase will feature area youth talent including the Bee Hive All Stars, a nationally winning competition dance team. This year’s celebrity guest will be Hip Hop Legends 8Ball & MJG.

The Music Essential Showcase was established by Mr. Jackson, as a fundraiser for the purchase and restoration of the bicycles. Today’s Youth In A Challenging Tomorrow, Inc. funds the parts for the bicycles that will be given away each December, during the Wishing Well Foundation Bike Giveaway.

When asked what the Music Essential Showcase means to him, he responded, “It is important for the youth in our community to understand the importance of giving back.” The 4th Annual Wishing Well Foundation Bike giveaway will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015, LOCATION: TBD. Beginning at 9am until noon food and drinks will be served to children waiting for a bike.
