The GA Music Awards
I had the honor of attending the 4th annual Georgia Music Awards this past Saturday 15 August 2015 in the beautiful Buckhead Theater in Atlanta, GA. This year’s host was the incredibly funny and fashionable actor and TV personality Christopher Martin of the ATL Fashion Plate.
“The focus of the GA Music Awards is to recognize Georgia artists in Rock, Hip Hop, Country, R&B and More. Our goal is to make this event beneficial to Georgia artists and to support the great music made in the Peachtree state.” (www.gamusicawards.com).
Independent artists from all over Georgia were nominated and the listeners and supporters voted on who would receive the honor of being the best in their genre of music. “It’s always a good thing when a State stands up and honors it’s own. I was proud to be a part of this event!” – Ian Burke, VIP of Live Music. Categories spanned all across music including a youth category, latin and best videos.

Leighala Jimenez-Hall (Honors Coordinator of the awards, and formally of Columbus, GA) shared with me her passion for the GA Music Awards, “These artists are so talented and deserve the honor of being acknowledged. Even when Im not in GA have to travel around the country, the artist stay in my heart and I promote their work. I am so proud of each of them and we look forward to even more nominees next year!”

It was indeed a beautiful experience. The whole night was full of talent, enthusiasm, and comradery among all the nominees and winners. The performances were phenomenal and being in the midst of the night clearly showed me that there is a multitude of talent in Georgia, and even I am looking forward to nominating Columbus, GA artists next year. Congratulations to all of this year’s winners (and all the nominees were winners in my eyes!)
